An app that helps home chefs expand and improve their cooking abilities with recipe videos, blogs, detailed how-to-dos, and more. The finest aspects are the automated shopping list, simple search tools, diet modification choices, and low-ingredient recipe alternatives. Because the app's customization options and recipes are somewhat limited, more seasoned chefs might want more. However, this app is ideal for any beginner chef.

The main focus of meal prep and cooking education software has been more for experienced cooks and quick meals.
The learning curve associated with cooking simple, healthy meals is something that current goods and services neglect to solve.
Our product will close this gap by offering customized meal plans for various dietary needs or scheduling constraints based on the user's lifestyle.
We will first concentrate on inexperienced cooks who lack the time to learn how to cook.
Our success can be gauged when members of the community share, like, and comment on their improved cooking skills.
Some key features that we decided to do based on our hypotheses:
Participants were given a prompt to design a new form of transportation only using readily available materials. Participants were not told about the assignment beforehand and weren't allowed to get extra help with the design challenge.
15 min
We were testing to see how resourceful people were and how willing they were to do something they had no experience with, such as creating something from a randomly assigned assignment.
Most new cooks have a busy schedule. However, there were split results on how our interviewees felt about the time constraint.
Users felt lost and put on the spot when given little to no instructions. All of our interviewees were conflicted while figuring out an “invention.”
Interviewees felt limited because they could only use what they had, but made it work in the end.
We originally had an Explore Page but decided to combine it with the home page since they had similar topics.
Feedback on the Explore Page:
1. The Explore page could be about trying new stuff, not algorithmically introduced but new things.
2. Icons are a little confusing.
3. The Explore page is good for going more in-depth.
Categories in the Cook Book pages are necessary and helpful, but some categories need to be defined better.
Feedback on the Cook Book Page:
1. Would like tags on Cook Book with extra information.
2. Redefine subcategories under Cook Book.
The Recipe Page is a necessary feature but has a lot of issues in terms of information architecture/layout and navigability, and some features are not clearly defined.
Feedback on the Recipe Page:
1. Likes the recipe generate feature.
2. Layout for recipe and visual hierarchy needs to work.
3. Filtering recipes might be a little confusing; the time stamp threw her off.
They were satisfied with their results, considering the time constraint and not knowing the prompt beforehand.
One felt they needed more time, one was fine with the time given, and one felt there could have been less time.
Participants were asked to solve a series of activities and riddles to solve a scavenger hunt throughout campus. We were assigned to one of three difficulties based on opposite preferences for instruction.
Easy: 8 min
Medium: 10 min
Hard: 12 min
1. How users understand new information on the fly
2. Effective learning methods & techniques
3. How does stress affect learning
When instincts couldn’t help, distrust formed. Users weren’t able to trust their decisions.
The closer to the end they were, the easier it was for decision-making; users "saw" fewer options.
Users were able to manage stress and plan effectively when they knew how much time they had.
Users figured out the solution faster when given another method.
The realistic pictures are better for the actual recipe, but for instructional and educational modules, the more animated/illustrated pictures would be better.
Users want to learn about the recipe and decide quickly if it's appropriate.
- Having tags for filtering time.
- Description should be on the clicked recipe, not card.
In this project, I learned the importance of Lean UX and the UX Canvas and how they contribute to the final design.
In addition, I underwent a protracted process that involved project conception, sprints, and project refinement. I have never produced a project using this methodology before, but each of these stages are necessary to produce a well-considered prototype. Finally, I had to communicate with my team members and establish a solid plan and end goal within our given time.
If we were to repeat this project, I would change how we divided the work and write it down. Projects under a time constraint flow better with a planner format since due dates and timing are more enforced.
